Reader’s theater helps readers develop fluency, and improves phrasing and expression when reading. Reading, speaking and listening are combined to make reading an engaging experience for the students.
Reader’s Theater is a fun, interactive way to help students improve their reading fluency and oral speaking skills.
BENEFITS OF READER’S THEATER
- Children read to learn word by word, but with little expression. Reader’s Theater provides experiences for them to read more fluently and with proper phrasing and intonation or tone.
- Participating in the Reader’s Theater helps students understand that how the language mechanics like commas, semicolons add to the meaning of any expression.
- Reader’s Theater not only make their reading sound better, but it also makes the content more comprehensible.
Most young children are shy or reluctant to read aloud or get involved in any conversations; participating in the Reader’s Theater boosts their confidence of partaking.
